Conamar have completed another design and build project under the Scape framework, this time for Central Bedfordshire Council at Potton School.
The school wanted to resurface their existing netball courts, but also had other improvement ideas, and Conamar were approached to advise on what would be achievable within their pre-determined budget. We worked with the school and the Council to develop a design which made the best possible use of the area, which included resurfacing the playground area and courts (with clearly marked pitches, etc) but also re-laying the existing paving slabs to fall with associated drainage, and creating additional artificial grassed areas. A redundant structure was removed, and the foundation covered by a bespoke seating area to give the children an external area to sit and play.
In addition to the main works, we also provided sporting goal posts and gym equipment, and installed a walking track around the edge of the playing field, to encourage more exercise!
All of the above were completed during the summer holiday period so it was ready for the new term & the client offered their thanks for our approach to the project and meeting such tight timescales.
